We recently curated an exhibition for long time collaborator, Kosmo Vinyl and his football inspired collages that documented the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter living over 3,000 miles away in New York. A selection of 40 images were hung in the main foyer for 4 months using the museum’s existing display panels, but re-imagined by Vinyl and Vegas to create a very popular attraction.
IAN DURY: More Than Fair Exhibition
Together with comrade Kosmo Vinyl and daughter, Jemima Dury, Balme co-curated the first exhibition of the much-loved late rock star, and former painter’s, early artwork at the Royal College of Art where he studied. Pieces covering the period from 1961 to 1972 were hung and lit by a team put together and over-seen by Balme who also designed the associated graphics including a foldout poster containing interview’s with Ian’s former mentor Sir Peter Blake and good chum Humphrey Ocean.
KAR KRAFTS COLLABORATION
Vegas Design assisted in the custom car and art show put together by father and son, Mick and Dean Micetich at Studio Voltaire, Clapham supplying artworks and promotional graphics for the week long show.
DEMONS, YARNS & TALES AT THE DAIRY
When the Rug Company teamed up with Riflemaker to stage this ground breaking exhibition, Vegas were called in to oversee the show’s design and presentation. Apart from the usual associated graphics - invites and signage - we designed free standing units to house and light the 14 tapestries created by the likes of Kara Walker and Grayson Perry. The exhibition was also staged in Miami where they decorated the building with graphics created by Vegas Design.
